The current demand for sporting facilities in Dundee greatly outweighs the current provision, and the council have outlined this in their Current Sport and Physical Activity Strategy Plan.

The brief was to create a large flexible sports centre for a local community partnership in Dundee incorporating a wide range of activities, including three large 4G pitches, one of which is indoors under a large curved roof and is capable of turning into a large conference space/concert venue.

The shape and form of the building is a simple curve housing all the activities underneath, and enclosing further outdoor 5/7-a-side pitches. A community room and café help to cater for further members of the local area.
